CODE OF CONDUCT
A safe, respectful and non-partisan civic space
The Platform for Democracy and Peace is an open civic space that promotes respectful dialogue, inclusion, democratic values and peaceful coexistence. This Code of Conduct helps ensure a safe, constructive and non-partisan environment for all participants.
PURPOSE
Why this Code matters
Thu’Je is built on dialogue, trust and democratic engagement. This Code of Conduct sets the shared standards that guide participation across events, stands, discussions and public interactions during the Platform. It applies to organisers, speakers, participants, volunteers and visitors alike.
1. CORE PRINCIPLES
What all participants agree to
Respect for all
Respect all individuals, regardless of background, beliefs, identity or affiliation.
Constructive dialogue
Promote inclusive and constructive dialogue, even when opinions differ.
Democratic values
Uphold democratic values, human rights and dignity in all participation.
Welcoming environment
Contribute to a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
2. EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR
How participants are expected to engage
- Engage in open, respectful and evidence-based discussions.
- Listen actively and allow space for diverse perspectives.
- Avoid offensive, discriminatory or inflammatory language.
- Respect event formats, moderators and time limits.
- Follow instructions from organisers and volunteers.
3. PROHIBITED BEHAVIOUR
What will not be tolerated
Hate speech
Hate speech, harassment, discrimination and intimidation are not permitted.
Personal attacks
Personal attacks, disruptive behaviour and exclusionary conduct are prohibited.
Violence or exclusion
Incitement to violence or exclusion has no place within the Platform.
Misuse of the platform
The platform must not be misused for purely partisan or non-transparent purposes.
4. NEUTRALITY & INTEGRITY
A non-partisan platform open to diverse voices
Thu’Je is a non-partisan civic platform open to diverse perspectives. Political actors may participate, but activities must respect pluralism, balanced dialogue, transparency and integrity.
5. RESPONSIBILITY OF ORGANIZERS
What organisers are responsible for
Balanced discussions
Organisers should ensure balanced and inclusive discussions.
Safe environment
Organisers are expected to help create a safe and respectful environment.
Informing participants
Speakers and participants should be informed about this Code in advance.
6. COMPLIANCE & MEASURES
How the Platform may respond
- Edit event descriptions for clarity and alignment.
- Request adjustments to event formats or content.
- Refuse or cancel activities that do not comply with this Code.
